NO TO LANDFILL

After 3 years of campaigning it looks like we may have a date for the Planning Committee meeting to consider SITA’s planning application to extend their landfill operation in your area. The date is Tuesday 29th July at County Hall, Morpeth.

 A special site inspection is to be carried out for the benefit of all the councillors on Northumberland and North Tyneside Councils planning committees. This is to take place on Monday 7th July at the site’s main gates in Seghill at 9.45am.

 If you would like to take this opportunity to express your opposition to SITA’s proposals personally to the people who will be making the decision we would like to see you at the Seghill main gates from 9.20am on 7th July to greet the councillors when they arrive. 40 years of landfill on our doorstep is enough, and this proposal could mean another 40 years. We cannot let this be inflicted on our families and future generations.
